KUALA LUMPUR, 18 December 2014

Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd. (FGV), was awarded the Corporate Governance Industry Excellence – Plantation by the Minority Shareholder Watchdog Group (MSWG) an independent research organisation on corporate governance matters.

The award was presented by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin at the MSWG-Asean Corporate Governance Transparency Index, Findings and Recognition 2014 — The Malaysian Chapter dinner recently.

FGV is ranked at 17 for the overall Corporate Governance 2014 winner category, out of the selected 100 public listed companies in the country.

MSWG recognises corporate organisations which made transparency an integral part in their business and individuals who encourage good corporate governance practice.

MSWG chairman Tan Sri Dr Sulaiman Mahbob in his speech, said the awards not only denote quality and transparency among the public-listed companies, but also reflect a high commitment to stand tall and be amongst the best in corporate governance in the international scene.

The Transparency Index of Malaysia’s top 100 public listed companies (PLCs) increased to 76.43 this year from 75.99 recorded last year, according to the Minority Shareholders Watchdog Group’s (MSWG) 2014 report findings.

In a separate event, and FGV subsidiary, Felda Prodata System Sdn. Bhd. (Prodata), was also awarded Best New Employer 2014 by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC).

Prodata is recognised for its performance among the companies with MSC status in the MSC Shared Services and Outsourcing sector (MSC SSO).

The award was presented at the recently held MDec Annual Dinner 2014.
