Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad and its subsidiaries reached out to help ease the burden of communities affected by recent floods in Penang in the Tasek Gelugor, Seberang Perai area.

About 300 families from Kampung Terus, Kampung Paya Tok Akil, Kampung Pertama and Kampung Kubu received FGV’s food items worth RM30,000 ranging from cooking oil to sweetened creamer, products of its downstream subsidiary, Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd, as well as Gula Prai from FGV’s listed subsidiary MSM Malaysia Holdings Berhad.

The items were distributed to the communities by MSM Prai Berhad’s Chief Executive Officer, Osman A. Karim. Thirty of MSM’s staff were also affected by the floods and received assistance from the Group amounting to RM38,000.

FGV Group President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Zakaria Arshad said the Group have always mobilised its internal resources to assist disaster victims.

The items were distributed to the communities by MSM Prai Berhad’s Chief Executive Officer, Osman A. Karim.

“FGV Group will be distributing disaster kits worth RM30,000 this year, which contain essential items such as a blanket, towel, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc., to relief centres. Part of the funds for this activity are donated by our staff nationwide and the kits will be prepared by our volunteers at the headquarters.

“We will be prepared to distribute the kits whenever there are disasters, we hope our small assistance will bring some comfort to the victims,” said Dato’ Zakaria.

Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad (FGV) bersama  anak-anak  syarikatnya yang lain  membantu mengurangkan beban masyarakat yang terjejas akibat banjir baru-baru ini di Pulau Pinang khususnya di Tasek Gelugor, Seberang Perai.

Seramai  300 keluarga dari Kampung Terus, Kampung Paya Tok Akil dan Kampung Pertama serta Kampung Kubu menerima  bantuan barang makanan bernilai RM30,000 daripada anak syarikat FGV, Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd, iaitu minyak masak, susu, dan Gula Prai daripada MSM Malaysia Holdings Berhad.

Barangan bantuan berkenaan telah diedarkan kepada mangsa banjir oleh Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif MSM Prai Berhad, Osman A. Karim. Tiga puluh kakitangan MSM yang terjejas akibat banjir berkenaan telah menerima bantuan daripada Kumpulan berjumlah RM38,000.00

Barangan bantuan  diedarkan kepada mangsa banjir oleh Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif MSM Prai Berhad, Osman A. Karim.

Presiden dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Kumpulan FGV, Dato’ Zakaria Arshad berkata Kumpulan FGV akan sentiasa mengerahkan sumber dalamannya untuk membantu mangsa bencana.

“Kumpulan FGV akan mengedarkan kit bencana berjumlah RM30,000 pada tahun ini, yang mengandungi barang-barang penting seperti selimut, tuala, barang peribadi dan pelbagai lagi kepada pusat pemindahan banjir. Sebahagian daripada dana bantuan berkenaan telah disumbangkan oleh kakitangan kami dari seluruh negara dan persediaan barangan disediakan oleh sukarelawan dari ibu pejabat.

“Kami akan sentiasa bersedia untuk mengedarkan barangan bantuan sekiranya berlaku bencana alam seperti ini dan kami berharap agar bantuan kecil ini  dapat mengurangkan beban yang ditanggung mangsa banjir,” kata Dato’ Zakaria.
