KUALA LUMPUR, 8 December – FGV Holdings Berhad (FGV), through its logistics arm and subsidiary, FGV Transport Services Sdn Bhd (FTSSB) ventures into container haulage business by adding 41 units of the New MAN TGS prime movers with low emission Euro V specification engines to its land transport fleet.

The latest addition to FTSSB’s fleet comprises five units of MAN TGS 4×2 and 10 units of 6×2, of both which will be used for container haulage.  The remaining 26 units are MAN TGS 6×4 which are ideal for heavy-duty cargo transportation. The MAN TGS Trucks are assembled locally in Serendah, Selangor by MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd (MAN Malaysia), a wholly owned subsidiary of MAN Truck & Bus SE of Germany.

The acquisition of the New MAN TGS Trucks would help grow FGV’s haulage business as they were able to comply with the strict Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) requirements of multinational customers.

Dato’ Nazrul Mansor, FGV’s Group Chief Executive Officer received the first 15 units of the new MAN TGS Trucks from Andrew O’Brooks, MAN Malaysia Managing Director, and Thayalan Subramaniam, General Manager of MAN Malaysia at FTSSB’s logistics hub in Shah Alam.

According to Dato’ Nazrul, the logistics sector has been a strong contributor to the FGV Group’s financial performance due to improved handling and transport rates as well as higher throughput volume for the transport and storage businesses over the past year. “This investment in a new generation of technologically advanced, fuel-efficient and low emission trucks from MAN would enable FGV to pursue opportunities in the sector and uphold our pledge to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as part of our commitment to sustainable business practices,” he said.

The acquisition of the New MAN TGS Trucks would help grow FGV’s haulage business as they were able to comply with the strict Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) requirements of multinational customers. “We are extremely satisfied with the performance and reliability of the current batch of MAN TGS Trucks in our fleet and are confident that the New MAN TGS Trucks would play a key role in efforts to reduce carbon footprint as one of the focus areas under Protecting the Environment pillar of our Group Sustainability Framework,” Nazrul added.

MAN is the first truck manufacturer in Malaysia to offer Euro V engines as standard across its entire product range and now leads the way in driving sustainable mobility forward in the transport sector. The latest 41-unit deal is the second open tender win by MAN Malaysia from FTSSB following the earlier acquisition of 44 units of the previous generation MAN TGS Trucks in 2021.

The New MAN TGS Trucks for the FTSSB fleet comes with the latest technologies such as MAN Telematics and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that include Driver’s Airbag, Lane Departure Warning System and Advanced Braking System that includes Pretarder and Retarder among others.

Andrew O’Brooks thanked FGV for agreeing that the New MAN TGS Trucks with Euro V engines can help it achieve both business profitability and environmental responsibility.“The New MAN TGS leads the way in driver orientation, fuel efficiency, assistance systems, digital networking and, above all, sustainability. There is no better truck to help FTSSB evolve into a sustainable transport solutions provider.

Like FGV, MAN is pursuing clear goals to counter climate change as sustainability is a central tenet of our corporate strategy. The target is to reduce emissions levels by 70 per cent by 2030 compared to 2019 levels across all the company’s locations around the world, including Malaysia.

For our customers, MAN is actively shaping the transition to sustainable and climate-neutral mobility with high technology, zero emission products.  As the charging infrastructure in Malaysia is still under-developed, it will be some time before fully electric products such as our MAN eTruck and eBus can be viable options. That is why we remain committed to continuously innovating and improving our conventional products to meet the ‘real world’ needs of the transport industry today.  All MAN Trucks sold in Malaysia are already equipped with Euro V engines as standard.  Next year, we will be offering MAN Bus chassis with Euro V engines as well and start taking orders for MAN eBus chassis,” he said.

KUALA LUMPUR, 8 Disember – FGV Holdings Berhad (FGV), melalui anak syarikat di bawah Sektor Logistik, FGV Transport Services Sdn Bhd (FTSSB) menceburi perniagaan pengangkutan kontena dengan menambah 41 unit lori MAN TGS 6×4 prime mover baharu dengan spesifikasi enjin karbon rendah Euro V.

Penambahan kepada asset FTSSB ini terdiri daripada lima unit lori MAN TGS 4×2 dan 10 unit lori 6×2 yang akan digunakan untuk pengangkutan kontena. Sementara 26 unit lori lagi adalah MAN TGS 6×4 prime mover yang sesuai untuk pengangkutan kargo. Proses pemasangan lori MAN TGS dilakukan di Serendah, Selangor oleh MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd (MAN Malaysia), anak syarikat milik penuh MAN Truck & Bus SE dari Jerman.

Perolehan lori MAN TGS ini akan membantu mengembangkan perniagaan pengangkutan FGV kerana lori ini dapat mematuhi keperluan Alam Sekitar, Sosial dan Tadbir Urus (ESG).

Ketika majlis pelancaran, Dato’ Nazrul Mansor, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Kumpulan FGV menerima 15 unit pertama lori MAN TGS daripada Andrew O’Brooks, Pengarah Urusan MAN Malaysia dan Thayalan Subramaniam, Pengurus Besar MAN Malaysia di hab logistik FTSSB di Shah Alam.

Dato’ Nazrul berkata, sektor logistik telah menjadi antara penyumbang utama kepada prestasi kewangan Kumpulan FGV berikutan peningkatan kadar pengendalian dan pengangkutan serta volum pemprosesan yang lebih tinggi untuk perniagaan pengangkutan dan penyimpanan sepanjang tahun lalu. “Pelaburan untuk lori generasi baharu yang berteknologi tinggi, jimat bahan api dan trak rendah karbon daripada MAN ini akan membolehkan FGV meraih peluang dalam sektor ini dan memperkukuhkan ikrar FGV untuk mengurangkan pelepasan gas rumah hijau yang merupakan sebahagian daripada komitmen kami terhadap amalan perniagaan yang lestari,” katanya.

Perolehan lori MAN TGS ini akan membantu mengembangkan perniagaan pengangkutan FGV kerana lori ini dapat mematuhi keperluan Alam Sekitar, Sosial dan Tadbir Urus (ESG). “Kami amat berpuas hati dengan prestasi semasa lori MAN TGS dan yakin bahawa lori MAN TGS ini akan memainkan peranan penting dalam usaha mengurangkan jejak karbon sebagai salah satu fokus di bawah Tonggak Melindungi Alam Sekitar bagi Rangka Kerja Kelestarian Kumpulan kami,” tambah Nazrul.

MAN merupakan pengeluar lori pertama di Malaysia yang menawarkan enjin Euro V bagi seluruh rangkaian produknya dan kini mendahului dalam memacu mobiliti yang lestari dalam sektor pengangkutan. Kolaborasi 41 unit lori terbaharu ini adalah berdasarkan tender terbuka kedua oleh FTSSB yang dimenangi MAN Malaysia berikutan pemerolehan awal 44 unit lori MAN TGS generasi sebelumnya pada tahun 2021.

Lori MAN TGS Baharu FTSSB didatangkan dengan teknologi terkini seperti MAN Telematics dan Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), termasuk Beg Udara Keselamantan khas buat Pemandu, Sistem Amaran Penukaran Lorong dan Sistem Brek yang termasuk Pretarder dan Retarder.

Andrew O’Brooks berterima kasih kepada FGV atas kolaborasi yang menggunakan lori MAN TGS terbaharu dengan enjin Euro V dalam sama-sama mencapai keuntungan serta melaksanakan tanggungjawab kepada alam sekitar. “MAN TGS baharu mendahului pasaran menerusi orientasi pemandu, kecekapan bahan api, sistem bantuan, rangkaian digital dan paling utama adalah aspek kemampanan. Tiada lori yang lebih baik untuk membantu FTSSB berkembang menjadi penyedia penyelesaian pengangkutan yang lestari.

Seperti FGV, MAN juga bekerja keras bagi mengejar matlamat bagi menangani isu perubahan iklim kerana kelestarian adalah prinsip utama strategi korporat syarikat. Sasaran mereka adalah untuk mengurangkan tahap pelepasan sebanyak 70 peratus menjelang 2030 berbanding tahap 2019 di semua lokasi syarikat di seluruh dunia, termasuk Malaysia.

Bagi memenuhi keperluan pelanggan MAN, syarikat itu sedang giat membentuk peralihan kepada mobiliti yang lestari dan neutral karbon dengan produk berteknologi tinggi, pelepasan karbon sifar. Memandangkan infrastruktur bagi pengecasan di Malaysia belum dibangunkan sepenuhnya, produk berkuasa elektrik penuh seperti MAN eTruck dan eBus akan mengambil masa lebih lama untuk menjadi pilihan yang berdaya maju. Itulah sebabnya kami kekal komited untuk terus berinovasi dan menambah baik produk konvensional kami untuk memenuhi keperluan ‘dunia sebenar’ industri pengangkutan hari ini. Semua lori MAN yang dijual di Malaysia sudah dilengkapi dengan enjin Euro V. Bagi tahun hadapan, kami akan menawarkan casis bas MAN dengan enjin Euro V juga dan mula menerima tempahan untuk casis MAN eBus,” katanya.
